Some notes from a first time user (BeagleY-AI Quick Start)
-
Page has a lot of extraneous information -
Not clear getting to balenaEtcher if it needs to be done (after bb-imager is done) -
Text on different getting started methods ignored (too long to read and understand) -
Short video showing the process would help -
Image names are long and confusing--can it just be a single link to the latest image? -
The spiked out step to use the configuration in bb-imager or editing the config file was easily glossed over (let's compare to Armbian) -
At least setting a password via keyboard and monitor should work (does it?) -
Can the password be set via USB serial? -
The power comment is confusing--perhaps it should point to more detailed documentation in the design section and simplify in the quickstart? -
While ssh
and UART are desired early-on for power users, perhaps it should be in another section to avoid confusion to first-time SBC users--the VS Code interface should be featured -
From within the environment, there's no action, such as blink and LED, to show that things are working -
"Standalone" connection is within the "USB Tethering" section -
The "BM3301" detail seems extraneous -
WiFi configuration should be done through a tool like rpi-config
-
Maybe a demo could be linked to at the end to show how to use a Jupyter Notebook -
Having the cooling fan section implies it is needed--it is not -
There is only 1 demo linked on the getting started page and there are no pictures
